| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the publication FarmWeek | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, FarmWeek was founded as a weekly service of the | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois Farm Bureau at the bureau's home office in | ||||||
| 7 | Bloomington on June 10, 1974, with the publication | ||||||
| 8 | consequently being printed at P&P Press in Peoria each Friday | ||||||
| 9 | for circulation the following Monday; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, FarmWeek was created as a weekly publication | ||||||
| 11 | designed to inform Illinois farmers and agricultural | ||||||
| 12 | enthusiasts alike of the current issues and policies facing | ||||||
| 13 | agriculture in Illinois and therefore to help readers make | ||||||
| 14 | well-informed decisions in regards to their respective farms; | ||||||
| 15 | and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Covering commodity markets and weather reports, | ||||||
| 17 | FarmWeek has continued to provide accurate and up-to-date | ||||||
| 18 | information through an ever-changing information landscape by | ||||||
| 19 | offering print as well as online services along with RFD Radio | ||||||
| 20 | Network reports; and

| 21 | WHEREAS, Agriculture has a special place in the Illinois | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | economy, accounting for roughly $51.1 billion annually and | ||||||
| 2 | employing nearly 1 million workers while producing a wide | ||||||
| 3 | range of products from food for consumption to biofuels; | ||||||
| 4 | therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 6 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 7 | we declare June 10, 2024 as FarmWeek Appreciation Day in the | ||||||
| 8 | State of Illinois; and be it further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That we congratulate FarmWeek on its 50th | ||||||
