HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wishes to
3commend the City of Joliet and the City of Joliet Fire
4Department for their partnership with the mental health
5provider Thriveworks; and
6 WHEREAS, Thriveworks, founded by AJ Centore, Ph.D. in
72008, is a leading mental health provider that helps people
8live happy and successful lives by making high-quality
9counseling and psychiatry services accessible and affordable;
10and
11 WHEREAS, Thriveworks offers licensed clinicians who are
12in-network with major insurance plans and provides in-person
13and online care for depression, anxiety, trauma, stress,
14relationship issues, and more; and
15 WHEREAS, The partnership between the City of Joliet and
16Thriveworks followed the successful implementation of
17city-provided, Thriveworks-facilitated mental health services
18for first responders and educators in early 2022; and
19 WHEREAS, Thriveworks opened its first clinic in Joliet on
20July 12, 2022, which coincided with the launch of a landmark
21mental health program funded by the City of Joliet and

1included a $400,000 pledge from the city to fund mental health
2services through Thriveworks and Silver Cross Hospital for the
3city's underinsured and uninsured, including low-income and
4unhoused residents; and
5 WHEREAS, Thriveworks' mental health services are
6accessible to uninsured residents through a voucher dispatched
7by the City of Joliet Fire Department, while residents with
8insurance can have any out-of-pocket expenses covered; and
9 WHEREAS, Thriveworks in Joliet includes TherapyLand, a
10unique pediatric behavioral health center equipped with the
11best resources to foster child development and mental health
12counseling, including designated areas for home/kitchen play,
13dress up, and sandbox play and offers children the chance to
14utilize blocks, puppets, nurturing toys, art supplies, and
15more; and
16 WHEREAS, According to the City of Joliet Fire Department,
17since the implementation of Thriveworks, emergency calls
18related to mental health crises have decreased as well as the
19overcall costs of emergency response; and
20 WHEREAS, Thriveworks continues to make an impact in the
21region, having been adopted by Joliet Township and Plainfield,
22with the Townships of Wheatland and Lockport working to adopt

1the program in the future; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we commend the City of Joliet and the City of Joliet Fire
5Department for their partnership with Thriveworks to provide
6mental health services to the residents of Joliet; and be it
