2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald | ||||||
4 | "Ron" Rivers, who passed away on December 15, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ron Rivers was born on June 2, 1948; he graduated | ||||||
6 | from Hirsch High School in Chicago; he served in the U.S. Army | ||||||
7 | for three years before being honorably discharged; he later | ||||||
8 | studied Social Service and Communications at Kennedy King | ||||||
9 | Community College; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ron Rivers built a beautiful life with his best | ||||||
11 | friend and wife of over 30 years, Regina; together, they built | ||||||
12 | their home in Maywood and had six children and many | ||||||
13 | grandchildren; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ron Rivers had a 32-year career with Trans World, | ||||||
15 | American, and Continental Airlines, working in catering and | ||||||
16 | customer service; he retired in 1999 to focus on his | ||||||
17 | grandchildren and to serve the community of Maywood; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Ron Rivers served as a trustee for the Village of | ||||||
19 | Maywood; he was an active member of the Maywood United Party | ||||||
20 | and of the Proviso Township Democratic Organization; and

1 | WHEREAS, Ron Rivers was a trusted friend and public | ||||||
2 | servant, shining light on all he encountered; he will be | ||||||
3 | remembered as a treasure who was loved beyond words and will be | ||||||
4 | missed beyond measure; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
6 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
7 | we mourn the passing of Ronald "Ron" Rivers and extend our | ||||||
8 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
9 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Ron Rivers as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
