HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his
dedication to the Olympia Fields Park District; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford began his professional career at
Quaker Oats in a senior management position, where he worked
for 25 years; he later became a successful entrepreneur in the
restaurant and product distribution sectors; and
WHEREAS, After retirement, Timothy Bradford began his next
career in public service, a passion that had always been
important to him; he has volunteered on the boards of numerous
civic and business organizations, including the Rich Township
High School District 227 advisory board and the Great Lakes
Bank advisory board; he served as president of the Matteson
Rotary Club; he also serves as the administrator of Rich
Township; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has received numerous awards for
his community involvement, including the Eagle Award for his
service to the Olympia Fields Park District, the Hero's Award
from the Village of Olympia Fields, the Diversity Award from
Diversity, Inc., and a commendation from the Matteson Business
Association; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford was elected to the Metropolitan
Water Reclamation District of the Greater Chicago Board of
Commissioners in 2014; he is the chairman of the Ethics
Committee and the Federal Legislation Committee and the vice
chairman of the Maintenance and Operations Committee and
Monitoring and Research Committee; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford's passion for the environment,
preservation of open space, and community development can be
seen in his 30 years of service as a member of the Olympia
Fields Park District Board, where he served as president for
three terms; he also served on the Irons Oaks Environmental
Learning Centers Joint Committee between the Olympia Fields
Park District and Homewood Flossmoor Park District; and
WHEREAS, It was during Timothy Bradford's tenure that the
award winning Sergeant Means Park and the Park District complex
came into its own; the Cull House is the administrative center
of the Olympia Fields Park District; the "Barn" Meeting Center,
an actual renovated barn, serves as a multi-use facility that
handles special events, meetings, weddings, and other
activities; the award winning Barn serves as an important focal
point for community gatherings throughout the Southland
region; the popularity of the complex, especially the Barn, led
to the expansion and renovation of the Barn building in late

2016; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has been a tireless leader in the
Southland for almost four decades and a dedicated member of the
Olympia Fields community; on June 16, 2017, the Sergeant Means
Park Barn will be re-dedicated as the "Bradford Red Door Barn";
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his dedication to the
Olympia Fields Park District and we wish him and his family all
the best as he continues to provide leadership and good
counsel; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Timothy Bradford as an expression of our respect
and esteem.
