2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeannine | ||||||
4 | Ellen (Mason) Black of Mahomet, who passed away on July 4, | ||||||
5 | 2023; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black was born in Bloomington to Harold | ||||||
7 | and Alma (Ehrlich) Mason on November 2, 1939; she attended | ||||||
8 | Trinity Lutheran School in Bloomington, graduated from | ||||||
9 | Champaign High School in 1957, and attended the University of | ||||||
10 | Illinois; she married James L. Black at St. John Lutheran | ||||||
11 | Church in Champaign on January 28, 1961; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black loved her family and always put | ||||||
13 | them first; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black enjoyed gardening and was an | ||||||
15 | excellent cook, famous for her angel food cake; she was an avid | ||||||
16 | fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and

17 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black was preceded in death by her | ||||||
18 | parents; and

19 | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black is survived by her husband, Jim; | ||||||
20 | her son, Jeffrey (Wendy) Black; her daughter, Julie (Derk) |
