2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jenny | ||||||
4 | Elizabeth Geirnaeirt of Jacksonville, who passed away on June | ||||||
5 | 12, 2020; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jenny Geirnaeirt was born in Jacksonville to | ||||||
7 | Andrew and Sandra Jean Eoff Stremlau on September 3, 1971; she | ||||||
8 | graduated from Routt Catholic High School in 1989; she earned | ||||||
9 | her communications degree from Illinois College, where she was | ||||||
10 | an active member of Gamma Delta Literary Society; she married | ||||||
11 | Terry Geirnaeirt at Rammelkamp Chapel on the Illinois College | ||||||
12 | campus in Jacksonville on July 6, 2002; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Jenny Geirnaeirt was a longtime public servant in | ||||||
14 | Jacksonville; she served under former State Representative Jim | ||||||
15 | Watson; she then served as the legislative director for State | ||||||
16 | Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer; she served as a Ward 4 | ||||||
17 | alderman from 2009 to 2015; she was appointed to Morgan County | ||||||
18 | Treasurer in 2015, and she was re-elected in 2018; in | ||||||
19 | recognition of her service as county treasurer, she was | ||||||
20 | awarded the 2019 Illinois County Treasurer of the Year Award | ||||||
21 | for Zone 2 by the Illinois County Treasurers' Association; she | ||||||
22 | was noted by city and county officials for being a hard worker, | ||||||
23 | full of life, and always a pleasure to be around; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jenny Geirnaeirt was very active in her community | ||||||
2 | and was involved with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, | ||||||
3 | the Jacksonville Art Association and the Beaux Arts Ball, the | ||||||
4 | Strawn Art Gallery, and the Routt/Our Saviour Dreams | ||||||
5 | Fundraiser; she was a lifelong member of the Church of Our | ||||||
6 | Saviour; she participated in league bowling for years and once | ||||||
7 | received the honor of Bowler of the Year; she was an active | ||||||
8 | supporter of her children's activities and loved being a | ||||||
9 | "hockey mom"; she was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals | ||||||
10 | and the St. Louis Blues; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jenny Geirnaeirt was known as an exceptional | ||||||
12 | cook, a problem solver, and someone with a larger than life | ||||||
13 | presence who lit up every room she entered; she will be | ||||||
14 | remembered as an incredible mother and the glue that held her | ||||||
15 | large family together; her one of a kind personality will | ||||||
16 | leave a mark on the Jacksonville community forever; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Jenny Geirnaeirt was preceded in death by her | ||||||
18 | father; her stepfather, Robert Fisher; and her grandparents, | ||||||
19 | Ralph and Dorothy Eoff; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Jenny Geirnaeirt was | ||||||
21 | survived by her husband; her children, Grace, Lilly, and Owen; | ||||||
22 | her mother, Sandra Eoff Fisher; her brother, Andrew Stremlau; |

| |||||||
1 | her sister, Julie Stremlau; and her numerous step-siblings, | ||||||
2 | nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; | ||||||
3 | therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
5 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
6 | we mourn the passing of Jenny Elizabeth Geirnaeirt and extend | ||||||
7 | our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who | ||||||
8 | knew and loved her; and be it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Jenny Geirnaeirt as an expression | ||||||
11 | of our deepest sympathy.
