| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Pike-Scott Farm | ||||||
| 4 | Bureau on 100 years of providing education and advocacy on | ||||||
| 5 | behalf of agriculture and rural life; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, In 1919, the farmers of Pike County formed an | ||||||
| 7 | organization to provide for improved farm
operations, to | ||||||
| 8 | support a better quality of life, and to insure their voice | ||||||
| 9 | would be heard in the market place and in
the halls of | ||||||
| 10 | government; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The Pike County Farm Bureau joined the ranks of | ||||||
| 12 | the Illinois Agricultural Association on
May 10, 1919; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, For nearly 100 years, the Pike County Farm Bureau | ||||||
| 14 | has been a vocal and reliable advocate for farmers and rural | ||||||
| 15 | residents; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, In 1987, the Pike County Farm Bureau and the Scott | ||||||
| 17 | County Farm Bureau signed a joint management arrangement and | ||||||
| 18 | have shared a culture of cooperation since; in 2018, the two | ||||||
| 19 | bureaus merged into the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The Pike-Scott Farm Bureau remains committed to | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | its mission to provide leadership in all areas that
affect the | ||||||
| 2 | lives and livelihood of its members; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The common heritage of the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau | ||||||
| 4 | is built upon faith, patriotism, stewardship, and
individual | ||||||
| 5 | responsibility; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Pike-Scott Farm Bureau leads its members in | ||||||
| 7 | their pursuit of prosperity by advancing programs and
public | ||||||
| 8 | policies that promote a strong agricultural economy, providing | ||||||
| 9 | benefits for its members and the
communities in which they | ||||||
| 10 | live; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, A celebration of "100 Years of Farm Bureau in Pike | ||||||
| 12 | County" will be held on August 3, 2019; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau on 100 years of | ||||||
| 16 | service and wish them continued success; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 19 | respect and esteem.
