| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives recognize the contributions of generations of | ||||||
| 4 | immigrants from every corner of the globe in building our | ||||||
| 5 | economy and creating our nation's unique character; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Immigrants continue to grow businesses, innovate, | ||||||
| 7 | strengthen our economy, and create jobs in Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Immigrants have provided the United States with | ||||||
| 9 | unique social and cultural influence, fundamentally enriching | ||||||
| 10 | the extraordinary character of our nation; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Immigrants have been tireless leaders not only in | ||||||
| 12 | securing their own rights and access to equal opportunity, but | ||||||
| 13 | also by working to create a fairer and more just society for | ||||||
| 14 | all Americans; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 16 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 17 | designate the month of June 2015 as Immigration Heritage Month | ||||||
| 18 | in the State of Illinois; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That we recognize that the role of immigrants in | ||||||
| 20 | building and enriching our nation has frequently been | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | overlooked and undervalued throughout our history and | ||||||
| 2 | continues to the present day.
