| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The bomb and mine disposal profession was created | ||||||
| 3 | in April 1941; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Members of explosive ordnance disposal | ||||||
| 5 | organizations perform a dangerous and selfless task often | ||||||
| 6 | without recognition, risking their lives on behalf of the | ||||||
| 7 | United States of America; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The United States will forever be in debt to | ||||||
| 9 | personnel in the profession of explosive ordnance disposal for | ||||||
| 10 | their bravery and sacrifice in times of peace and war; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, People in the United States should express their | ||||||
| 12 | recognition and gratitude for members of the explosive ordnance | ||||||
| 13 | disposal profession; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The first Saturday in May would be an appropriate | ||||||
| 15 | date to observe as National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day; | ||||||
| 16 | therefore, be it

| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 19 | we support the federal designation of National Explosive | ||||||
| 20 | Ordnance Disposal Day to honor those who are serving and have | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | served in the noble and self-sacrificing profession of | ||||||
| 2 | explosive ordnance disposal in the United States Armed Forces.
