HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The bomb and mine disposal profession was created
3in April 1941; and
4 WHEREAS, Members of explosive ordnance disposal
5organizations perform a dangerous and selfless task often
6without recognition, risking their lives on behalf of the
7United States of America; and
8 WHEREAS, The United States will forever be in debt to
9personnel in the profession of explosive ordnance disposal for
10their bravery and sacrifice in times of peace and war; and
11 WHEREAS, People in the United States should express their
12recognition and gratitude for members of the explosive ordnance
13disposal profession; and
14 WHEREAS, The first Saturday in May would be an appropriate
15date to observe as National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day;
16therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19we support the federal designation of National Explosive
20Ordnance Disposal Day to honor those who are serving and have

2explosive ordnance disposal in the United States Armed Forces.
