| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to recognize the
Original Springs | ||||||
| 4 | Hotel in Okawville on the occasion of its 150th anniversary; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel was established in 1867 | ||||||
| 7 | by Rudolph Plegge and C.H.
Helle as a small bathhouse, which | ||||||
| 8 | was opened in response to tests that yielded abnormally high
| ||||||
| 9 | mineral content in the water around the area; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel is the only continually | ||||||
| 11 | operating mineral spring in the
State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel boasts 38 guest rooms, | ||||||
| 13 | a restaurant, a pool, and a mineral
spa; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel is on the National | ||||||
| 15 | Register of Historic Places; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 18 | recognize the Original
Springs Hotel in Okawville on its | ||||||
| 19 | 150-year history and we wish them success and prosperity in the | ||||||
| 20 | future; and be it further
