| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kathy Schimpf on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of her retirement as director of the Williamson | ||||||
| 5 | County Child Advocacy Center; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Kathy Schimpf has been the first and only director | ||||||
| 7 | of the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center since the center | ||||||
| 8 | opened in 1992; during her tenure, the center has gone from its | ||||||
| 9 | humble beginnings of two card tables, six chairs, a budget of | ||||||
| 10 | $65,000, and meetings in the First Presbyterian Church of | ||||||
| 11 | Herrin parsonage to a staff of eight people who work in a | ||||||
| 12 | center-owned residential location that includes two vehicles | ||||||
| 13 | and an operating budget of nearly $500,000; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, As director of the Williamson County Child | ||||||
| 15 | Advocacy Center, Kathy Schimpf has testified before many | ||||||
| 16 | legislative committees on child abuse issues and has sat on | ||||||
| 17 | several committees, task forces, and special interest groups | ||||||
| 18 | dealing with child abuse issues; she also helped expand child | ||||||
| 19 | advocacy services to surrounding Southern Illinois counties; | ||||||
| 20 | and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Kathy Schimpf was designated as Advocate of the | ||||||
| 22 | Year at the Downstate Training Conference on Child Abuse in | ||||||

| 1 | 1996 and 2001 in honor of her accomplishments; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Kathy Schimpf plans to enjoy her retirement by | ||||||
| 3 | spending time with her husband, Rod, and traveling; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Kathy Schimpf serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 5 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 8 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we congratulate Kathy Schimpf on the occasion of her retirement | ||||||
| 10 | and wish her many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it | ||||||
| 11 | further

| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
