| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Queen of All | ||||||
| 4 | Saints Parent Association (QASPA) on being honored with the | ||||||
| 5 | 2013 Distinguished Home and School Association by the National | ||||||
| 6 | Catholic Educational Association; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The award is presented each year to honor home and | ||||||
| 8 | school associations of Catholic schools and parishes across the | ||||||
| 9 | United States for creating outstanding programs that enhance | ||||||
| 10 | the life of the school and parish community; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The QASPA was nominated for its work in promoting | ||||||
| 12 | parish Mass attendance through the Grade Level Mass Program; | ||||||
| 13 | participating students are invited to take part in a variety of | ||||||
| 14 | activities to engage them in the liturgy, before, during, and | ||||||
| 15 | after the Mass; students participate as cantors, lectors, and | ||||||
| 16 | choir members, and all participants are prepared by their | ||||||
| 17 | families with service activities, devotional projects, and | ||||||
| 18 | other projects connected to the season or theme of the liturgy; | ||||||
| 19 | and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The Queen of All Saints parish Mass attendance has | ||||||
| 21 | noticeably increased with the establishment of the Grade Level | ||||||
| 22 | Mass program; refreshments and hospitality gatherings after | ||||||

| 1 | Grade Level Masses are well-attended; these socials build | ||||||
| 2 | community and increase interaction between school and | ||||||
| 3 | religious education families; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, The QASPA will receive the 2013 Distinguished Home | ||||||
| 5 | and School Association Award at a banquet held during the | ||||||
| 6 | annual convention of the National Catholic Educational | ||||||
| 7 | Association during Easter week 2013 in Houston, Texas; | ||||||
| 8 | therefore, be it

| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 10 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | we congratulate the Queen of All Saints Parent Association on | ||||||
| 12 | being honored with the 2013 Distinguished Home and School | ||||||
| 13 | Association by the National Catholic Educational Association; | ||||||
| 14 | and be it further

| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the Queen of All Saints Parent Association as an | ||||||
