1 | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, It is appropriate for us to remember the many | ||||||
3 | sacrifices and contributions to the cause of
freedom made by | ||||||
4 | the outstanding men and women who served in the United States | ||||||
5 | Armed Forces
protecting our great nation; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Over 600 men and women from Loda Township have | ||||||
7 | served in the armed forces,
beginning with the War of 1812; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, There have been a total of 33 men who have given | ||||||
9 | their lives protecting America's freedom from
armed conflicts | ||||||
10 | (17 from the Civil War, 3 from World War I, and 11 from World | ||||||
11 | War II); and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, The Village of Loda holds an annual "Loda Good Ole | ||||||
13 | Days Celebration" from July 24 to 26, 2015;
therefore, be it
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
15 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
16 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of U.S. | ||||||
17 | Route 45 that runs through Village of Loda as the "Veterans of | ||||||
18 | Loda Township Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation | ||||||
20 | is requested to erect at suitable locations,
consistent with |

1 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs | ||||||
2 | giving notice of the name of
the "Veterans of Loda Township | ||||||
3 | Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
4 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
5 | presented to the Secretary of the Illinois
Department of | ||||||
6 | Transportation and the Village of Loda.
