Bill Title: Extends the Trade Policy Task Force within the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity - Office of Trade and Investment to (1) analyze important issues relative to the growth of international trade from and to Illinois; (2) make recommendations to Congress, the United States Trade Representative, and the White House National Trade Council regarding trade policies that best serve Illinois; and (3) promote the exportation of goods and services from Illinois and the Importation of goods and services into Illinois.

| 2 | WHEREAS, During the 100th General Assembly, House Joint | ||||||
| 3 | Resolution 3 created the Trade Policy Task Force within the | ||||||
| 4 | Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity - | ||||||
| 5 | Office of Trade and Investment to (1) analyze important issues | ||||||
| 6 | relative to the growth of international trade from and to | ||||||
| 7 | Illinois; (2) make recommendations to Congress, the United | ||||||
| 8 | States Trade Representative, and the White House National Trade | ||||||
| 9 | Council regarding trade policies that best serve Illinois; and | ||||||
| 10 | (3) promote the exportation of goods and services from Illinois | ||||||
| 11 | and the importation of goods and services into Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Trade Policy Task Force was to report its | ||||||
| 13 | findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by | ||||||
| 14 | December 31, 2018; and

| 15 | WHEREAS, The Trade Policy Task Force needs additional time | ||||||
| 16 | to complete its work; therefore, be it

| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 18 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 19 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Trade Policy Task Force | ||||||
| 20 | shall report its findings to the General Assembly as required | ||||||
| 21 | by House Joint Resolution 3 of the 100th General Assembly no | ||||||
| 22 | later than December 31, 2019; and be it further

| 1 | RESOLVED, That with this extension, the Trade Policy Task | ||||||
| 2 | Force shall continue to operate as provided under House | ||||||
| 3 | Resolution 3 of the 100th General Assembly.
