Bill Title: Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Requires the school board to develop and distribute to every parent or guardian of a student in the school district a one-page summation of the statute of limitations for a student or a parent or guardian to bring a claim against the school district and any possible courses of corrective action for a student who has been sexually abused or sexually assaulted on the school district's property. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
34-18.60 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/34-18.60 new)
Sec. 34-18.60. Information on statute of limitations;
sexual abuse or sexual assault. The board must develop and
distribute to every parent or guardian of a student in the
school district a one-page summation of the statute of
limitations for a student or a parent or guardian to bring a
claim against the school district and any possible courses of
corrective action for a student who has been sexually abused or
sexually assaulted on the school district's property. The
summation must be distributed within one month after the
beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and the State Board must
approve the content of the summation before distribution by the
board.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
