AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding
Section 11-30-3.5 as follows:
(65 ILCS 5/11-30-3.5 new)
Sec. 11-30-3.5. Multi-family dwelling units.
(a) In order to promote the public health and safety and
the health and safety of the occupants of the premises herein
defined, the corporate authorities may license and regulate the
use and operation of multi-family dwelling units.
"Multi-family dwelling unit" means a building or buildings
providing housing to 5 or more households.
(b) The fee for any license authorized under this Section
may not exceed the sum of $25 per year.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
