30 ILCS 805/9.2 new

Amends the State Mandates Act. Provides that the General Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under the Act during a calendar year which contains a general election.

1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
5Section 9.2 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 805/9.2 new)
7 Sec. 9.2. No unfunded mandates during election years.
8Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the General
9Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under this
10Act during a calendar year which contains a general election as
11defined in the Election Code.
