Bill Title: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that "federally qualified health center" also means a health care practitioner in an individual or group practice as set forth under the federal Social Security Act. Effective July 1, 2012.

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4585 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | changing Section 5-5.20 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (305 ILCS 5/5-5.20)
| ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 5-5.20. Clinic payments. For services provided by | ||||||
| 8 | federally
qualified health centers as defined in Section 1905 | ||||||
| 9 | (l)(2)(B) of the federal
Social Security Act, on or after April | ||||||
| 10 | 1, 1989, and as long as required by
federal law, the Illinois | ||||||
| 11 | Department shall
reimburse those health centers for those | ||||||
| 12 | services according to a prospective
cost-reimbursement | ||||||
| 13 | methodology. In addition, the Department shall reimburse | ||||||
| 14 | federally qualified health centers within the timeframes | ||||||
| 15 | required for practitioners under Section 1902(a)(37) of the | ||||||
| 16 | federal Social Security Act.
