1 AN ACT concerning elections.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Tax
5for Education Referendum Act.
6 Section 5. Referendum. The State Board of Elections shall
7cause a statewide advisory question of public policy to be
8submitted to the voters at the general election to be held on
9November 4, 2014. The question shall appear in the following
10form:
11 "Should the Illinois Constitution be amended to require
12 that each school district receive additional revenue,
13 based on their number of students, from an additional 3%
14 tax on income greater than one million dollars?"
15 The votes on the question shall be recorded as "Yes" or
16"No".
17 Section 10. Certification. The State Board of Elections
18shall immediately certify the question set forth in Section 5
19of this Act to be submitted to the voters of the entire State
20to each election authority in Illinois.

1 Section 15. Conflicts. If any provision of this Act
2conflicts with any other law, this Act controls.
3 Section 20. Repeal. This Act is repealed on January 1,
42015.
