Bill Title: Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the Governor shall annually designate, by official proclamation, the third Friday in March as Robotics Day to encourage students and school districts to engage in robotics-based activities and to engage students with the study of mathematics and science.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 240 as follows:

| 6 | (5 ILCS 490/240 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 240. Robotics Day. The Governor shall annually | ||||||
| 8 | designate, by official proclamation, the third Friday in March | ||||||
| 9 | as Robotics Day to encourage students and school districts to | ||||||
| 10 | engage in robotics-based activities and to engage students | ||||||
| 11 | with the study of mathematics and science.
