| 1 | AN ACT concerning government.

| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | changing Section 50 as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (5 ILCS 490/50) (from Ch. 1, par. 3051-50)

| 7 | Sec. 50. Gold Star Mothers Day. The Governor shall annually | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | designate by
official proclamation the last second Sunday in | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | September August as Gold Star Mothers' Day
to be observed | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | throughout the State as a day to honor and commemorate for the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | purpose of holding
appropriate ceremonies in commemoration of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | the mothers of men and women who
gave their lives while serving | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | with the armed forces of the United States
in time of war or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | during a period of hostilities.
