AN ACT concerning government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
changing Section 50 as follows:
(5 ILCS 490/50) (from Ch. 1, par. 3051-50)
Sec. 50. Gold Star Mothers Day. The Governor shall annually
designate by official proclamation the last second Sunday in
September August as Gold Star Mothers' Day to be observed
throughout the State as a day to honor and commemorate for the
purpose of holding appropriate ceremonies in commemoration of
the mothers of men and women who gave their lives while serving
with the armed forces of the United States in time of war or
during a period of hostilities.
