Amends the Lobbyist Registration Act. AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Lobbyist Registration Act is amended by
changing Section 11.3 as follows:
(25 ILCS 170/11.3)
Sec. 11.3. Compensation from a State agency. Except as
otherwise provided in this Section, it It is a violation of
this Act for a person registered or required to be registered
under this Act to accept or agree to accept compensation from a
State agency for the purpose of lobbying legislative action.
This Section does not apply to compensation (i) that is a
portion of the salary of a full-time employee of a State agency
whose responsibility or authority includes, but is not limited
to, lobbying executive, legislative, or administrative action
or (ii) to an individual who is contractually retained by a
State agency that is not listed in Section 5-15 of the Civil
Administrative Code of Illinois.
For the purpose of this Section, "State agency" is defined
as in the Illinois State Auditing Act.
