Bill Title: Amends the State Board of Education Article of the School Code. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical Education teachers who participate in externships with a manufacturing company in the State. Provides for rulemaking. Effective July 1, 2025.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning education.

| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||
| 5 | 2-3.204 as follows:

| 6 | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.204 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 2-3.204. Teacher externship stipend. Subject to | ||||||
| 8 | appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish | ||||||
| 9 | and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts | ||||||
| 10 | for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical | ||||||
| 11 | Education teachers who participate in externships with a | ||||||
| 12 | manufacturing company in the State. The State Board shall | ||||||
| 13 | adopt rules to implement this Section.
