820 ILCS 405/406.5 new

Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act. Provides that an individual is not disqualified from receiving unemployment benefits by reason of being entitled to disability benefits related to the person's military service when the military service disability is determined to be greater than 20%. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning employment.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by
5adding Section 406.5 as follows:
6 (820 ILCS 405/406.5 new)
7 Sec. 406.5. Military service disability; benefit
8eligibility. An individual otherwise eligible for benefits
9shall not be disqualified from receiving benefits by reason of
10being entitled to disability benefits related to the person's
11military service when the service-related disability is
12determined to be 20% or greater.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
