1 AN ACT concerning government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971
5 is amended by changing Section 15.1 as follows:
6 (5 ILCS 375/15.1) (from Ch. 127, par. 535.1)
7 Sec. 15.1. Every group health insurance program or
8 self-insurance health plan which provides coverage for
9 services coming within the the practice of optometry as defined
10 in the Illinois Optometric Practice Act of 1987, as now or
11 hereafter amended, shall provide to each member a written
12 notice that such member may elect for optometric services
13 received to be reimbursed to either a physician licensed to
14 practice medicine in all its branches or to an optometrist
15 licensed in this State.
16 This Section applies only to persons who become covered by
17 such group insurance program or self-insurance health plan
18 after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1979.
