Bill Title: Amends the Children's Health Insurance Program Act, the Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act, and the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that notwithstanding any other provision of any of those Acts to the contrary, the Department of Human Services or the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for or recipient of benefits under any of those Acts to supply at least 2 consecutive pay stubs for the purpose of determining the applicant's or recipient's income eligibility for those benefits. Effective immediately.

Amends the Children's Health Insurance Program Act, the Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act, and the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that notwithstanding any other provision of any of those Acts to the contrary, the Department of Human Services or the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for or recipient of benefits under any of those Acts to supply at least 2 consecutive pay stubs for the purpose of determining the applicant's or recipient's income eligibility for those benefits. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning State benefits.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is
5 amended by adding Section 7 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 106/7 new)
7 Sec. 7. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
8 provision of this Act to the contrary, the Department of
9 Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for
10 or recipient of benefits under this Act to supply at least 2
11 consecutive pay stubs for the purpose of determining the
12 applicant's or recipient's income eligibility for those
13 benefits.
14 Section 10. The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act is
15 amended by adding Section 7 as follows:
16 (215 ILCS 170/7 new)
17 Sec. 7. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
18 provision of this Act to the contrary, the Department of
19 Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for
20 or recipient of benefits under this Act to supply at least 2

3 Section 15. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
4 adding Section 1-12 as follows:
5 (305 ILCS 5/1-12 new)
6 Sec. 1-12. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
7 provision of this Code to the contrary, the Department of Human
8 Services or the Department of Healthcare and Family Services
9 shall require an applicant for or recipient of benefits under
10 this Code to supply at least 2 consecutive pay stubs for the
11 purpose of determining the applicant's or recipient's income
12 eligibility for those benefits.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
