Bill Title: Amends the State Mandates Act. Provides that any bill introduced in the General Assembly on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act that provides for an exemption from reimbursement for a State mandate shall require passage by a two-thirds majority vote in each house of the General Assembly.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 9.2 as follows:

7 | Sec. 9.2. Exempt mandate approval. Any bill introduced in | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | the General Assembly on or after the effective date of this | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | amendatory Act of the 101st General Assembly that provides for | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | an exemption from reimbursement for a State mandate shall | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | require passage by a two-thirds majority vote in each house of | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | the General Assembly.
