15 ILCS 405/19.5 new

Amends the State Comptroller Act. 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Comptroller Act is amended by adding
5 Section 19.5 as follows:
6 (15 ILCS 405/19.5 new)
7 Sec. 19.5. Timely reporting. On or before October 31 of
8 each year, State agencies shall report to the Comptroller all
9 fiscal information necessary to prepare a comprehensive annual
10 financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30 of
11 that year. The Comptroller may require certain State agencies
12 to report the information prior to October 31 under a schedule
13 established by the Comptroller. Whenever the Comptroller
14 determines that a State agency is delinquent in reporting the
15 information, the Comptroller shall notify in writing the Office
16 of the Auditor General, the Office of the Governor, the Speaker
17 and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, and the
18 President and Minority Leader of the Senate of the delinquency.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
