Provides for repeal of the provisions on January 1, 2021. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
220 ILCS 5/16-108.9 new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5Section 16-108.9 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/16-108.9 new)
7 Sec. 16-108.9. Electric vehicle charging station study. No
8later than June 30, 2020, the Commission shall conduct at least
9one workshop and issue a report concerning whether the
10development, construction, and installation of new
11publicly-accessible electric vehicle charging stations would
12increase utilization of electric vehicles by the citizens of
13this State.
14 This Section is repealed on January 1, 2021.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
