| 1 | AN ACT concerning State government.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and | ||||||
| 5 | Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is | ||||||
| 6 | amended by changing Section 2310-371.5 as follows:
| ||||||
| 7 | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-371.5) (was 20 ILCS 2310/371) | ||||||
| 8 | Sec. 2310-371.5. Heartsaver AED Fund; grants. Subject to | ||||||
| 9 | appropriation, the Department of Public Health has the power to | ||||||
| 10 | make matching grants from the Heartsaver AED Fund, a special | ||||||
| 11 | fund created in the State treasury, to any school in the State, | ||||||
| 12 | public park district, forest preserve district, conservation | ||||||
| 13 | district, municipal recreation department, public library,
| ||||||
| 14 | college, or university to assist in the purchase of
an | ||||||
| 15 | Automated External Defibrillator. Applicants for AED grants | ||||||
| 16 | must demonstrate that they have funds to pay 50% of the cost of | ||||||
| 17 | the AEDs
for which matching grant moneys are sought. Any | ||||||
| 18 | school, public park district, forest preserve district, | ||||||
| 19 | conservation district, municipal recreation department, public | ||||||
| 20 | library, college, or university applying for the grant shall | ||||||
| 21 | not receive more than one grant from the Heartsaver AED Fund | ||||||
| 22 | each fiscal year.
The State Treasurer shall accept and deposit | ||||||
| 23 | into the Fund all gifts, grants, transfers, appropriations, and | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | other amounts from any legal source, public or private, that | ||||||
| 2 | are designated for deposit into the Fund.

| 4 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
