Bill Title: Amends the Motor Fuel Tax Law. Provides that the rate of tax imposed on sales of motor fuel and diesel fuel within the metropolitan region shall be increased or decreased on January 1 of each calendar year beginning in 2013 by an amount equal to the percentage change (if any) in the consumer price index during the previous calendar year. Provides that the metropolitan region means all territory included within the territory of the Regional Transportation Authority. Provides that, beginning on February 1, 2013, each month the State Comptroller and the State Treasurer shall transfer from the Road Fund to the Public Transportation Fund an amount equal to the difference between the amount collected in the previous month from within the metropolitan region and the amount that would have been collected from within the metropolitan region if the tax had been imposed at the rate in effect for areas outside of the metropolitan region. Amends the State Finance Act to make conforming changes. Effective immediately.
