Bill Title: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that a person who, having been admitted to bail for appearance before any court of this State, incurs a forfeiture of the bail and knowingly fails to surrender himself or herself within 30 days following the date of the forfeiture, commits, if the bail was given in connection with a charge of felony or pending appeal or certiorari after conviction of any offense, a felony of the same (rather than next lower) Class. Deletes language providing that the person commits a Class A misdemeanor if the underlying offense was a Class 4 felony. Deletes language providing that if the bail was given in connection with a charge of committing a misdemeanor, or for appearance as a witness, that the person commits a misdemeanor of the next lower Class, but not less than a Class C misdemeanor. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that a period of probation, a term of periodic imprisonment or conditional discharge shall not be imposed for a Class 4 or greater felony violation of the offense of violation of bail bond.
