Bill Title: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that a person also commits a hate crime when because another individual or group of individuals was wearing a uniform of a member of the United States Armed Forces or National Guard or was wearing United States veterans' organization regalia, he or she commits, regardless of the existence of any other motivating factor or factors, assault, battery, aggravated assault, misdemeanor theft, criminal trespass to residence, misdemeanor criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to vehicle, criminal trespass to real property, mob action, disorderly conduct, harassment by telephone, or harassment through electronic communications against that individual or group of individuals. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that it is an aggravating factor in sentencing that because another individual was wearing a uniform of a member of the United States Armed Forces or National Guard or was wearing United States veterans' organization regalia, the defendant committed the offense against (1) the person or property of that individual; (2) the person or property of a person who has an association with, is married to, or has a friendship with the other individual; or (3) the person or property of a relative (by blood or marriage) of that person. Effective immediately.
