Summary

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that no later than 60 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall seek a waiver from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to convert the State's Medicaid program from a claims-based reimbursement system to a block grant under the federal Medicaid program with built-in annual funding increases to account for inflation and population growth. Effective immediately.
