Summary

Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that prior to the commencement of any repair or maintenance project that is estimated to close a street or lane off to traffic for a period longer than 5 business days, the Department of Transportation shall conduct a public meeting at which interested parties and citizens will have the opportunity to provide comments or voice opposition to the proposed project. Provides that the time and place of the public meeting will be at the discretion of the Department, but must take place no less than 7 days before commencement of the proposed project. Provides that notice of the public meeting shall be published in accordance with rules promulgated by the Department.
