AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2494
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2494 by replacing
everything after the enacting clause with the following:
"Section 5. The Sex Offender Community Notification Law is
amended by adding Section 123 as follows:
(730 ILCS 152/123 new)
Sec. 123. Residency notice near private parks.
(a) In this Section:
"Child sex offender" has the meaning ascribed to it in
subsection (d) of Section 11-9.3 of the Criminal Code of 2012.
"Common interest community association" and "common
expenses" have the meanings ascribed to them in Section 1-5 of
the Common Interest Community Association Act.
"Private park" means a privately owned playground, piece of
land, or facility used solely or primarily for children's
recreation and purchased by common expenses.

(b) If a child sex offender purchases property abutting a
private park owned by a common interest community association,
the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction shall give
notice to the residents of that area owned by the common
interest common interest community association.".
