AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2264
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2264 by replacing
everything after the enacting clause with the following:
"Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
10-20.24 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/10-20.24) (from Ch. 122, par. 10-20.24)
Sec. 10-20.24. Part-time Attendance. To accept in
part-time attendance in the regular education program of the
district pupils enrolled in nonpublic schools if there is
sufficient space in the public school desired to be attended.
For the purposes of this Section, for 5 years from the
effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General
Assembly, allowing part-time attendance in the regular
education program of the district shall include allowing
resident pupils who are enrolled in nonpublic elementary
schools to participate in those school-sponsored or

school-supported athletic or extracurricular activities that
are not selective with respect to who may join or participate,
in which case the district may submit a report to the State
Board of Education on the cost of having the nonpublic school
students participate. Request for attendance in the following
school year must be submitted by the nonpublic school principal
to the public school before May 1. Request may be made only to
those public schools located in the district where the child
attending the nonpublic school resides.
To accept, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14-6.01,
in part-time attendance resident pupils of the types described
in Sections 14-1.02 through 14-1.07 who are enrolled in
nonpublic schools.

Section 10. The Interscholastic Athletic Organization Act
is amended by adding Section 1.20 as follows:
(105 ILCS 25/1.20 new)
Sec. 1.20. Reporting on communication with schools.
(a) On or before July 1, 2016, an association or other
entity that has as one of its purposes promoting, sponsoring,
regulating, or in any manner providing for interscholastic
athletics or any form of athletic competition among elementary
or secondary schools and students within this State shall
report to the General Assembly on the association's or entity's

efforts to communicate its rules to public and nonpublic
schools in this State.
(b) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2017.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.".
