| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1367
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1367 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 12-4.49 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (305 ILCS 5/12-4.49 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 12-4.49. Waiver proposal; working group. The | ||||||
| 8 | Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall convene a | ||||||
| 9 | working group in consultation with the Office of the Governor | ||||||
| 10 | to discuss the development of a revised proposal for the | ||||||
| 11 | research and demonstration project waiver proposal submitted | ||||||
| 12 | to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on June 4, | ||||||
| 13 | 2014 under Section 1115 of the Social Security Act. The working | ||||||
| 14 | group shall include the following members: | ||||||
| 15 | (1) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the | ||||||
| 16 | Speaker of the House of Representatives. | ||||||

| 1 | (2) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the | ||||||
| 2 | Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. | ||||||
| 3 | (3) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the | ||||||
| 4 | President of the Senate. | ||||||
| 5 | (4) Three members of the General Assembly chosen by the | ||||||
| 6 | Minority Leader of the Senate. | ||||||
| 7 | The purpose of the working group shall be to provide input | ||||||
| 8 | and advice to the Department and the Office of the Governor | ||||||
| 9 | with regard to the development of the proposal to utilize a | ||||||
| 10 | research and demonstration waiver. The working group shall meet | ||||||
| 11 | initially at the call of the Speaker of the House of | ||||||
| 12 | Representatives and the President of the Senate and at least | ||||||
| 13 | once each quarter year thereafter until the waiver either is | ||||||
| 14 | approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or | ||||||
| 15 | expires. The Department shall provide administrative support | ||||||
| 16 | for the working group. | ||||||
| 17 | Members shall not be compensated for their participation in | ||||||
| 18 | the working group but may receive reimbursement for travel | ||||||
| 19 | expenses. The working group shall be dissolved on the date of | ||||||
| 20 | federal approval or expiration of the research and | ||||||
| 21 | demonstration project waiver proposal submitted to the U.S. | ||||||
| 22 | Department of Health and Human Services on June 4, 2014 under | ||||||
| 23 | Section 1115 of the Social Security Act.

| 24 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 25 | becoming law.".
