| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3601

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3601 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 3-29.11 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (110 ILCS 805/3-29.11 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 3-29.11. Southwestern Illinois College dual credit | ||||||
| 8 | program. Notwithstanding any provisions of this Act to the | ||||||
| 9 | contrary, Southwestern Illinois College and East St. Louis | ||||||
| 10 | School District 189 are encouraged to allow students in grades | ||||||
| 11 | 11 and 12 to take classes at the College for dual credit at no | ||||||
| 12 | cost to the student.".
