MANDATORY

REPORTER
TRAINING
AND
CERTIFICATION
WORKGROUP.
The
department
2
of
human
services,
in
cooperation
with
the
departments
of
3
education
and
public
health,
shall
facilitate
a
study
by
a
4
workgroup
of
stakeholders
to
make
recommendations
relating
5
to
mandatory
child
abuse
and
mandatory
dependent
adult
6
abuse
reporter
training
and
certification
requirements.
The
7
workgroup
shall
develop
interdepartmental
strategies
for
8
improving
mandatory
child
abuse
and
mandatory
dependent
9
adult
abuse
reporter
training
and
certification
requirements.
10
The
workgroup
shall
consist
of
representatives
from
the
11
departments
of
human
services,
education,
and
public
health,
12
and
other
experts
the
department
of
human
services
deems
13
necessary.
The
workgroup
shall
submit
a
report
on
the
study
14
with
recommendations,
including
but
not
limited
to
strategies
15
developed
and
other
proposed
improvements,
to
the
governor
and
16
the
general
assembly
on
or
before
December
14,
2018.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance

the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
human
services
to
21
facilitate
a
study
by
a
workgroup,
in
cooperation
with
the
22
departments
of
education
and
public
health,
related
to
23
mandatory
child
abuse
and
mandatory
dependent
adult
abuse
24
reporter
training
and
certification
requirements.
The
bill
25
provides
that
the
workgroup
shall
consist
of
representatives
26
from
the
departments
of
human
services,
education,
and
public
27
health
and
other
experts
the
department
of
human
services
28
deems
necessary.
The
workgroup
is
required
to
develop
29
interdepartmental
strategies
for

and
