institution”

an
institution
of

higher
learning
that
was
established
in
Iowa
on
or
before

January
1,
2020,
that
is
currently
located
in
Iowa
which
,
that

is
operated
privately
and
not
controlled
or
administered
by
any
6
state
agency
or
any
subdivision
of
the
state
,
and
which
that
7
meets
the
criteria
in
paragraphs
“a”
and
“b”
and
all
of
the
8
criteria
in
paragraphs
“d”
through
“i”
,
except
that
institutions
9
defined
in
paragraph
“c”
of
this
subsection
are
exempt
from
the
10
requirements
of
paragraphs
“a”
and
“b”
:

This
bill
revises
the
definition
of
“accredited
private
15
institution”
for
the
purpose
of
Iowa
tuition
grants
to
require
16
the
institution
of
higher
learning
to
have
been
established
in
17
Iowa
on
or
before
January
1,
2020.
Pursuant
to
Code
chapter
18
261,
tuition
grants
provide
need-based
grant
assistance
to
19
eligible
students
who
attend
private
colleges
and
universities
20
located
in
Iowa
that
meet
the
definition
of
accredited
21
private
institution.
Code
chapter
261
annually
appropriates
22
$48,896,050
for
tuition
grants.
