1.
REPEAL.
2017
Iowa
Acts,
chapter
149,
section
4,
1
is
repealed.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate

importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
5
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
6
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

In
2017,
the
general
assembly
amended
Code
section
321.477
8
to
specify
the
powers,
duties,
and
limitations
of
employees
9
of
the
department
of
transportation
who
are
designated
as
10
peace
officers
by
the
department.
Under
the
terms
of
the
11
legislation,
the
amended
language
is
set
to
be
repealed
12
effective
July
1,
2018.
This
bill
repeals
the
future
repeal
13
provision.
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
