S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 256.11, subsection 5, paragraph k, 1 unnumbered paragraph 1, as enacted by 2018 Iowa Acts, chapter 2 1119, section 20, as amended by 2018 Iowa Acts, chapter 1163, 3 section 10, is amended to read as follows: 4 One-half unit of personal finance literacy. All students , 5 beginning with the students in the 2022-2023 school year 6 graduating class, shall complete at least one-half unit of 7 personal finance literacy as a condition of graduation. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill establishes that the requirement that all high 12 school students enrolled in school districts and accredited 13 nonpublic schools take a one-half unit course in personal 14 finance literacy, as a condition of graduation, commences with 15 the students in the 2022-2023 school year graduating class. 16 -1- LSB 1524XC (5) 88 kh/jh 1/ 1
