WHEREAS,
the
Second
Session
of
the
84th
General

Assembly
marks
the
last
hurrah
for
Steve
Conway;
and
4
WHEREAS,
leaving
a
career
in
industry,
Mr.
Conway
5
joined
the
Senate
caucus
staff
in
1986;
and
6
WHEREAS,
Mr.
Conway
specialized
in
human
services
7
and
health
care
issues,
and
over
the
years
provided
8
staff
support
for
the
Agriculture,
Ethics,
Human
9
Resources,
Judiciary,
and
Labor
and
Business
10
Committees,
and
also
the
Health
and
Human
Services
and
11
the
Health
and
Human
Rights
Budget
Subcommittees;
and
12
WHEREAS,
from
1987
to
1996,
at
the
invitation
13
of
Senator
Berl
E.
Priebe,
Mr.
Conway
provided
14
staff
support
for
the
Administrative
Rules
Review
15
Committee;
and
16
WHEREAS,
Mr.
Conway’s
first
loyalty
has
always
been
17
to
the
institution
of
the
Senate,
which
has
won
him
18
friends
and
respect
on
both
sides
of
the
aisle;
and
19
WHEREAS,
his
professional
zeal
led
him
to
further
20
academic
study
and
the
earning
of
a
master’s
degree
in
21
health
administration;
and
22
WHEREAS,
his
passion
for
public
service
led
Mr.
23
Conway
to
seek
a
seat
on
the
Broadlawns
Medical
24
Center
Board
of
Trustees,
where
he
was
elected
as
25
chair,
guiding
the
hospital
through
a
difficult
fiscal
26
crisis;
and
27
WHEREAS,
in
2005
Mr.
Conway
began
serving
his

prepare
to
join
their
son

daughter-in-law
Cynthia
and
two
beloved
granddaughters,

and
Fern,
in
Oregon.
