Senate Resolution 106 - Introduced PAG LIN SENATE RESOLUTION NO. BY SMITH 1 1 A Resolution amending the permanent rules of the senate 1 2 for the eighty=seventh general assembly relating to 1 3 appointments subject to confirmation by the senate. 1 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That Rule 59, 1 5 unnumbered paragraph 4, permanent rules of the senate, 1 6 as adopted by the senate during the 2017 Session in 1 7 Senate Resolution 3, is amended to read as follows: 1 8 Within the three (3) legislative days after an 1 9 appointment has been referred to the rules and 1 10 administration committee, any ten senators may require 1 11 that the nominee be assigned to an appropriate standing 1 12 committee by filing a written, signed request therefor 1 13 with the chairperson of the rules and administration 1 14 committee. The committee chair shall refer the 1 15 appointment to a subcommittee withinone (1)three 1 16 (3) legislativedaydays after a standing committee 1 17 receives an appointment for further investigation, 1 18 publishing notice of such assignment in the senate 1 19 journal for the next legislative day. Within ten (10) 1 20 legislative days after a standing committee receives an 1 21 appointment for further investigation, the subcommittee 1 22 shall file its report with the standing committee.
