as

A
graduate
of
an
Iowa
high
school,
or
a
person
who

completed
private
instruction
under
chapter
299A
,
or
a
person

who
is
a
recipient
of
a
high
school
equivalency
diploma,
and

who
prior
to
becoming
an
adult
learner
enrolls
full-time
or
7
part-time
during
the
academic
year
,
or
part-time
for
a
summer
8
semester
,
in
an
eligible
program
at
an
eligible
institution.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
expands
the
definition
of
eligible
student
for

purposes
of
the
future
ready
Iowa
skilled
workforce
last-dollar

scholarship
program
to
include
persons
who
otherwise
meet
the
15
current
requirements
but
enroll
part-time
during
the
academic
16
year.
Currently,
such
a
person
must
enroll
full-time
during
17
the
academic
year
or
part-time
for
a
summer
semester.
