Section
542B.14,
subsection
1,
paragraph
a,
1
subparagraph
(4),
Code
2020,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

Successfully
passing
an
examination
designed
to

determine
the
proficiency
and
qualifications
to
engage
in
the
4
practice
of
engineering.
No
applicant
shall
be
entitled
to
5
take
this
examination
until
the
applicant
shows
the
necessary
6
practical
experience
in
engineering
work.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
9
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
eliminates
the
requirement
that
applicants
for
11
licensure
as
a
professional
engineer
show
necessary
practical
12
experience
in
engineering
work
prior
to
taking
an
examination
13
designed
to
determine
their
proficiency
and
qualifications
to
14
engage
in
the
practice
of
engineering.
The
bill
does
not
alter
15
other
experience
requirements
applicable
to
such
applicants.
