is
amended
by
adding
the
following
new
subparagraph:

(13)
An
employee
of
a
judicial
district

department
of
correctional
services
whose
condition
of
4
employment
requires
the
employee
to
be
certified
by
the
Iowa
5
law
enforcement
academy
and
who
is
required
to
perform
the
6
duties
of
a
parole
officer
as
provided
in
section
906.2.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
parole
officers
employed
by
a
11
judicial
district
department
of
correctional
services
who
are
12
certified
by
the
Iowa
law
enforcement
academy
are
included
13
within
the
protection
occupation
category
of
the
Iowa
public
14
employees’
retirement
system.
