Food
assistance
program
1
eligibility

requirements.

The
administrative
rules
adopted
for
the
food
assistance
3
program
by
the
department
shall
require
an
applicant
for
or
4
participant
in
the
food
assistance
program
to
provide
a
work
5
history
and
to
participate
in
required
work-related
activities
6
as
a
condition
of
eligibility
for
food
assistance.
If
an
7
applicant
or
participant
is
not
employed
or
participating
in
8
education,
training,
or
work-related
activities
approved
by
9
the
department,
the
department
shall
require
the
individual
10
to
participate
in
public
work
activity.
The
department
shall
11
select
an
individual’s
public
work
activity
based
upon
the
12
department’s
assessment
of
the
individual’s
skills
and
work
13
experience.
The
public
work
activities
may
include
but
are
14
not
limited
to
working
at
a
local
school,
for
a
child
care
15
provider,
or
at
a
public
library,
or
providing
maintenance
and
16
trash
removal
on
public
trails
or
roads.

the
members

the
general

This
bill
relates
to
food
assistance
eligibility
and
work

requirements.

The
bill
provides
that
the
administrative
rules
adopted
23
by
the
department
of
human
services
for
the
food
assistance
24
program
shall
require,
as
a
condition
of
eligibility
for
the
25
program,
an
applicant
or
participant
to
provide
a
work
history
26
and
to
participate
in
various
work-related
activities.
