                             AN ACT
 PROVIDING MEDICAL EXAMINERS ACCESS TO INFORMATION IN THE
    DRUG PRESCRIBING AND DISPENSING INFORMATION PROGRAM.

 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
    Section 1.  Section 124.553, subsection 1, Code 2017, is
 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
    NEW PARAGRAPH.  f.  The state medical examiner or a county
 medical examiner as appointed pursuant to section 331.801 or
 691.5 or a medical examiner investigator recognized by the
 office of the state medical examiner when the information
 requested by the examiner or investigator relates to an
 investigation being conducted by the examiner or investigator.
